TOMMY HAFEY’S COACHING LEGACY
A MEASURE of Tom Hafey’s influence was the number of his players who went on to coach at AFL level.
In the past 60 years no other coach has produced more than the 20 players who would follow in Hafey’s footsteps to the VFL/AFL coaching ranks. Included in the Hafey coaching team trophy cabinet are nine premiership flags.
Naturally most came from Hafey’s 11 seasons at Richmond, when he coached our beloved tigers to four premierships and he is one of only five immortals at tigerland. Not a bad side don't you think?!
